We are a friendly community pharmacy committed to improving the health and well-being of our local population, here in Thornton Heath. We provide a wide range of services and if you have any questions just ask!
You can talk to your pharmacist in confidence, even about the most personal symptoms and you do not need to make an appointment. We have a private consultation area where patients can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without being overheard by other members of the public.
These are some of the services that we provide at Cranston Chemist:
- New Medicines Service (NMS)
This is a free service, funded by the NHS, provided by your Pharmacist to help you to get the most out of your new medicine. Ask for more details.
- Medicines Use Review (MUR)
This is a free service, funded by the NHS, which involves having a private consultation of around 20 minutes, with the Pharmacist, focusing on how you use your medicines. The aim of the review is to help you better understand the medicines you take, how they work and what they do. It will also help your Pharmacist identify any problems you may be experiencing such as side effects or interactions with other medicines.
- Monitored Dosage System (MDS)
This provides you with a separate compartment for each dosage time of the day to help you take the right medicine at the right time.
- Repeat Prescription Service
Have your prescription ready and waiting for you. We will order your repeat prescription from the surgery, collect it for you and have it ready and waiting for you when you next visit us. And because we know in advance what medicine you are taking, we can make sure we always have it in stock for you.
Leave your completed repeat slip with us.
- NHS Electronic Prescription Service
A quicker and more convenient way to get your repeat prescriptions.
The NHS Electronic Prescription Service gives you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to your pharmacy – by sending it electronically instead of the traditional paper-based method. Let us know if you’d like your prescriptions sent to Cranston Chemist and we will organise it for you.
